Jessie Huckin is a multi-disciplinary, neuro-diverse creative based in South East London. In 2009, she graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art, focusing on painting and installation.
Her film work involves being Art Director and Production Designer for commercials, short films, music videos, charity films and educational films. She Art Directed ‘When I grow up’ with BigEggFilms, which won the bronze award at the Charity Film Awards 2020. She has Production Designed films alongside BAFTA and OSCAR nominated short film crew, starring BAFTA nominated actors Ellora Torchia and Afsaneh Dehrouyeh. Production designing for brands has included for Outernet London, and clients including Virgin, Samsung, and THIS.
She also works as a Set, Props and Costume Designer, set builder, scenic artist for theatre. Her projects range from designing and creating a family friendly ‘Mini Magic Flute’ opera with Opera North, painting costumes for the English National Ballet ‘Dance Journeys’ and set, costume and prop design for Best Dance Production Black British Theatre Award nominated ‘Saturn Returns’, with Gateway Arts; recently performed at the Southbank Centre.
Jessie is led creatively by stories that enhance the platform for the vulnerable or marginalized communities, with the human experience being at the forefront.
Her artistry work style varies from painterly geometry to detailed naturalism, mixed media with pressed petals, and soldering wood or cork.
She enjoys transferring this love of art to community arts workshops settings with children and adults. Since graduating from university, Jessie has also obtained her QTS and OCR level 5 Dyslexia diploma in an SpLD (Dyslexia), and has specialised in DT, Art, Maths and English teaching for the last 12 years.
